Kelley Novak – Author & Advocate for Change

Kelley Novak is the author of Escape Poverty Mindset, a powerful and deeply personal guide designed to help individuals break free from homelessness and poverty. Her work offers practical resources, motivational tools, and a blueprint for developing the mindset needed to create lasting change.

Kelley’s mission is rooted in her own lived experience. For years, she endured life on the streets, battling heroin addiction and the daily uncertainty of survival. With no stable home and few prospects, she faced a cycle of hardship that seemed unbreakable. Her turning point came in an unlikely place—prison—where she discovered self-help books. These works introduced her to the concept of a “success mindset,” emphasizing personal responsibility, vision, and resilience.

As she applied these principles, Kelley noticed a profound shift in her life. Her mindset changed, her confidence grew, and opportunities began to open before her. Determined to help others achieve the same transformation, she founded StreetLight, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing inspiration, education, and resources for people seeking to escape homelessness—mirroring the mission of her book. As the organization’s executive director, she leads programs that empower individuals to rebuild their lives with dignity and purpose.

Today, Kelley is more than an author and nonprofit leader—she is a speaker, advocate, and living example that transformation is possible. Her journey from homelessness and addiction to hope and leadership continues to inspire those determined not just to survive, but to thrive.
